INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION PERMITS
WHY DO I NEED A PERMIT?This section of the Athletics Australia website has information pertaining to competing at events hosted on international soil. World Athletics Rule 5 of the eligibility rules requires all athletes competing overseas to hold an International Competition Permit. For more information, please email the Athletics Australia High Performance Department. As per World Athletics rules, Australian athletes competing overseas require a permit from Athletics Australia to compete. This includes all levels of athletes competing in any level of competition, including athletes on scholarship with a foreign university. A Meet Organiser or foreign university should not allow an athlete without a written permit to compete. An athlete competing overseas without a permit is not covered by any of Athletics Australia's insurance policies. Please refer to the section on Travel Insurance when competing overseas for more details. |
