Bio

World Athletics Level 4 Sprints, Hurdles and Relays coach with 25 years experience. Main specialties are sprint and long hurdles. Have coached numerous athletes to medal at National and State level and many more to sprint and hurdle finals (top 8). Since 2013 about 25 squad athletes have represented Australia at various International meets. These include World U20 Championships, Commonwealth Youth Games and Oceania Championships. Most recently (2022) Mitch Lightfoot won Gold in the sprint hurdles at the Oceania Championships followed by 4th place in the world U20 Championships in Cali, Columbia. Georgia Fichardt won Silver in the sprint hurdles and Gold in the 4x100m relay at the Oceania Championships.

Philosophically I try to coach the athlete in a manner that prepares them for a future in athletics, if that is what they wish, and also to prepare them for a life outside sport. I help them to have good self-esteem to be self-reliant and confident. I endeavour to treat all athletes with respect and to help them improve to the next level.
