Australian Athletics Officials will be joined by the colleagues from around the world at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, with GOLDOC today confirming a team of more than 200 to deliver athletics at Carrara Stadium.

Set to provide the highest possible quality competition environment for athletes descending on the Gold Coast, the list of appointments today sees 177 green and gold officials announced alongside 29 international appointments.

“Australian athletics is very fortunate to have a highly skilled workforce of Officials, with this hard-working group responsible for the delivery of hundreds of events across the nation each year,” Michael Hall, Athletics Australia Interim Chief Executive Officer, said.

“Gold Coast 2018 presents them with an opportunity to lead the management of a competition that welcomes the world and Athletics Australia looks forward to partnering with GOLDOC in collaborating with them as the Commonwealth Games approach.”

The appointment of International and National Technical Officials for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games followed a recruitment process that began before the 2017 Australian Athletics Championships.

Officials at this championship were upskilled to ensure their readiness for the Commonwealth Games, with more than 300 applicants considered for positions.

The athletics program at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games commences on 8 April 2018.
