Chemist Warehouse Extends Support as the 2023 Summer Season Launches

Published Thu 02 Feb 2023

Australian athletics will be powered by Chemist Warehouse for the next two years with Australia's largest pharmacy retailer extending and expanding their support of the sport.

The two-year sponsorship renewal covers 2023 and 2024 and includes naming rights to a series of competitions across the summer and winter seasons, plus support of the volunteer officials who are the backbone of the national competition program. Chemist Warehouse activation zones will feature at many of these events, providing hydration, sun protection and recovery products for athletes, officials and fans alike.

All Australian team members selected for junior and senior track and field, road and cross country teams will proudly wear the Chemist Warehouse brand on their national team kit in recognition of the retailer’s significant support of the sport. This branded team kit will feature for the first time when Australia takes on the world on home soil at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships to be held in Bathurst on 18 February 2023.

“At Chemist Warehouse we are committed to supporting Australian sport from grass roots right through to an elite level and are thrilled to be fostering the extreme skill of Athletics competitors in Australia. As the House of Wellness we are passionate about health and fitness and the extension of our partnership with Athletics Australia will allow us to work together to grow the sport within our country,” said Chemist Warehouse Director, Mario Tascone.

And as part of the partnership extension, some of Australia’s best athletes will be named as Chemist Warehouse ambassadors in the coming weeks, and will work with the retailer and their House of Wellness arm to showcase the benefits of sport, health and wellness throughout the wider Australian community.

Athletics Australia CEO Peter Bromley welcomed the continued support of Chemist Warehouse saying, “We are thrilled to both continue and to grow this partnership with Chemist Warehouse, a leader in retail pharmacy and key influencer of wellness and healthcare outcomes for all Australians.”

“Our athletes will benefit from this partnership through the quality of the events we can deliver, and so too will sports fans. We encourage you to show up and support the Aussie stars when they bring the show to a track near you this season!”
