Athletics Australia is delighted to announce the appointment of Brian Miller to the Athletics Australia Board of Directors, effective immediately.

Miller is an experienced board director who has a long association with athletics from grass roots to high performance levels as an athlete, coach and sport psychologist. This includes Miller’s role as Team Psychologist for the Australian athletics team from 1984-1988 and again from 2013-2016.

Athletics Australia President, Mark Arbib said the appointment of Miller to the Athletics Australia Board of Directors will further strengthen its skilled Board.

“We are delighted to welcome Brian to our Board,” Arbib said.

“Brian has direct experience across all levels of athletics with unique insight into high performance mindset, combined with significant experience in the corporate sector.

“We look forward to Brian’s input and contribution to our sport as we focus on growth in high performance, participation and commercial.”

During his career as a team psychologist Miller has worked with athletes across 10 Olympic Games, 8 Commonwealth Games and more than 20 world championships and world cups across 7 different sports.

Perth-based Miller is CEO of ASX-listed technology firm, K2fly, which focuses on delivering Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) solutions to some of the world’s largest resource companies including Rio Tinto, FMG, Glencore, South 32 and Roy Hill.

Miller  was honoured to accept the role and is looking forward to contributing to shaping the future of Athletics in Australia.

"I am delighted to be joining such a strong Board at this important point in our sport's development. I anticipate great things happening for Athletics in the next few years and I'm pleased to help wherever I can."

From February 2021 the boards of Athletics Australia and Little Athletics Australia will conduct joining board meetings. This  is a significant step towards unification of the two organisations leading into the OneAthletics merger vote, which will take place in October 2021.
