Australian women set fastest time in 4x100m since 2000.

Australia has had a great night at the IAAF World Relays, in front of 15,000 people at Nissan Stadium in Yokohama.

Finals:

• The 4x100m girls (Sally Pearson, Maddie Coates, Riley Day & Naa Anang) are through to the final after a blistering 43.19, which is Australia’s fastest time since 2000 and the third fastest team of all time.
• The 4x400m men ran the fastest Australian time in six years (2013) in 3.03.53 and by doing so qualified for the final on Sunday. The team was made up of Alex Beck, Tyler Gunn, Murray Goodwin and Steve Solomon.
• The 4x400m girls finished sixth in their heat in a time of 3.31.34, the team of Ellie Beer, Morgan Mitchell, Caitlin Jones & Lauren Wells will race in the B Final tomorrow.

Other results:

• The mixed 2x2x400m team of Catriona Bisset and Joshua Ralph finished second in a time of 3.37.61. Second is the Australia’s equal best ever performance at the World Relays (run since 2014).
• The 4x100m men set their best ever performance at World Relays with 39.05,  finishing 17th overall. The team was made up of Trae Williams, Jake Doran, Zach Holdsworth, Alex Hartmann.
• The mixed 4x400m finished in 14^th with 3.21.80, the team is made up of Ian Halpin, Luke Stevens, Angie Blackburn and Rebecca Bennett.
• The mixed hurdles team progressed through to the final after finishing third in their heat (fourth overall) but unfortunately were disqualified after a false start.
