A 20-medal haul at Nottwil

Team Australia will arrive home from Nottwil (SUI) with 20 medals, the third most of any nation, after a stunning four days of competition at the 2017 World Para-Athletics Junior Championships.
Standing on the podium for no less than five gold, six silver and nine bronze, the 12-strong team also achieved 16 personal bests to highlight the potential ahead for Australia’s para-athletics team.
Leading the charge on day three and four was Gregory Luff (NSW), who won gold in both the T34 400m and T34 100m for athletes with cerebral palsy. Stopping the clock in a personal best of 17.20 in the short sprint, he ran 1:01.64 to take line honours in the one-lap event also.
Luff was joined on the podium by his teammate Nathan Donaldson (Qld), the winner of the silver medal in the 400m in a time of 1:06.60 and the bronze in the 100m.
Sam Rizzo (Vic) also won multiple medals, claiming bronze medals in each of the T54 wheelchair 100m, T54 wheelchair 800m and T54 wheelchair 1500m.
Team Australia also won a further three bronze medals to close out
Tamsin Colley (NSW) enjoyed success was in the T36 100m, running 15.77, while Sam Walker (Tas) ran a personal best to stand on the podium for the T38 100m for athletes with cerebral palsy.
