2021 Anti-Doping Policy Change

Home | news | 2021 Anti-Doping Policy Change

Athletics Australia has welcomed the new National Anti-Doping Policy developed by Sport Integrity Australia, which comes into effect on 1 January 2021.

The new 2021 Anti-Doping Policy reflects the changes to the World Anti-Doping Code and Australian legislations.

It is important that all members, participants and non-participants in Athletics understand their obligations under the new policy. This includes athletes, support personnel and employees whose employment contract enables this.

Changes to the new Anti-Doping Policy include a new anti-doping rule violation of retaliation, introduction of a National testing Pool, a category of athletes that is lower-level, flexibility related to sanctioning for certain levels of athletes and participants, and a change to the in-competition period.
