Paralympics Australia and Seven West Media Partnership A Success

Did you watch and enjoy the World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai on 7Plus and on 7Two?
The unprecedented coverage on television and online was thanks to a partnership between Seven West Media and Paralympics Australia that has been in place since 2015.
The partnership has meant that major para-championships including the 2019 World Championships in Swimming and Athletics as well as the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games are shown live and free on screens and devices for Australian audiences in record numbers
About the broadcast deal, Paralympics Australia Chief Executive Lynne Anderson said:
“Together, we want to grow our showcase of Para-sport, advocate for the one in five Australians living with a disability, provide a highly visible example of embracing of diversity and inclusion across mainstream media platforms and grow the profile of our Paralympic athletes who continually break down barriers, challenge stereotypes and transform attitudes,”
“We’re so grateful for Seven’s support to this point. Their partnership and commitment has been outstanding. This is evident in the coverage for World Championships in Swimming and Athletics, which is a first for a commercial broadcaster in Australia.
”We’re very proud to be able to work closely with Seven to ensure Australian audiences can connect with Australia’s teams in our country’s two biggest Paralympic sports in advance of next year’s Games,”
The Championships saw a significant number of medals with Australia finishing 7th overall with 8 gold, 6 silver, and 9 bronze.
