APPROPRIATE COMPETITION TARGETSWith World Athletics including several additional competitions into the calendar for 2022, it will not be possible in many cases, nor in the long-term best interests for athletes in most cases, to consider competing at all competitions an athlete may be eligible or qualify for. This is before taking in the lessons from the lead into Tokyo and the purposeful planning that brought success. This is something all athletes and coaches should begin to consider now and factor into their planning for 2022. Athletics Australia High Performance through the National Event Group Leads and State Performance Advisors will provide individual support for coaches and athletes in identifying their targeted competition for 2022. All coaches and athletes are encouraged to contact their National Event Group Lead or State Performance Advisor to initiate conversations around their international competition calendar. |
