Some of our greatest athletes began their Olympic dreams much the way that you have. They conjured up a thought of themselves entering an Olympic stadium wearing green and gold, with their friends and family all cheering for them in the crowd. They even imagined themselves running, throwing, jumping and walking their way to Olympic glory.
Jemima Montag vividly remembers the day she took her first steps on her road to the Olympics. After picking up a pretend Olympic torch in pre-school while learning about the Athens 2004 Games, she joined Brighton Little Athletics Centre in Melbourne and very quickly found her way to race walking. She enjoyed the challenge of a technical endurance event, and by her teen years, she was winning national titles and on her way to stardom.
