There are so many ways to get involved in athletics on and off the track and in a variety of different formats catering to different ages, stages, and interests. Australian Athletics,, along with our Member Associations and partners, is continuing to develop and refine new participation offerings in line with our vision of inspiring, empowering, and supporting the athlete inside everyone, so that everyone has a place in athletics.

The Official Junior Program of Australian Athletics for children aged 3 - 12 years. Fun, games-based weekly sessions of between 45 and 60 minutes to build essential athletics, sport, and life skills. Programs operate on a school term basis year-round. Find out more!

After a more traditional competition athletics experience? Australian Athletics' eight state and territory Member Associations have clubs all over Australia. For training, coaching, competition and more for participants of a range of ages, contact your Member Association or closest club.

The Rio Tinto Athletics for the Outback program engages regional and remote communities through sustainable relationships and tailored, consultative programs that deliver meaningful athletics opportunities.

Supported by the Australian Government, Sporting Schools offers flexible primary and secondary school programs to meet the individual needs of schools through team-based activities in a fun, age-appropriate format, focusing on skill development and keeping kids active. Australian Athletics has one of the largest programs in the country, engaging 150,000 children each year.

Australian Technical Officials are an integral part of the athletics, ensuring fairness, safety, and excitement for all involved. Officiating provides you with a chance to not only contribute to the sport you love but also to challenge yourself and stay connected.

Australian Athletics has developed a range of resources to assist coaches, parents, athletes, teachers, administrators, and clubs in providing age and developmentally appropriate athletics experiences for children across a range of settings and ages.
