Level 2 Club Coach - Course Information
The Level 2 Club Coach Course is the progression from Level 1 and transitions the coaches' understanding of how to coach the fundamental skills towards event-specific skills and drills.
This course teaches coaches the basic technical models of the Track and Field events held at club and school level competitions, in addition to general training principles for coaching intermediate level athletes.

Target Athletes
The course focusses on coaching athletes between 10 and 16 years of age who have at least 12 months experience training the fundamental movement skills of running, jumping, and throwing.
A safe and effective technical model of the Track and Field events is introduced to facilitate a long-term athlete development program with sustainable improvements in event-specific performance.
Level 2 Club Coaches are expected to be able to assist their athletes to prepare and compete at regional and state-level competitions.
FIT Model
This course gives coaches the required skills and knowledge to coach athletes in the following phases of the FIT Model of Development.

Requirements to Gain Accreditation
- Completion of a two-day face to face course or a one-day face-to-face to face and 5-session online course.
- Working with Children Check clearance.
- Completion of multi-choice assessment.
- Completion of post-course planning assessment.
- Completion of practical coaching assessment, to be completed by an approved assessor.

Required Competencies
2-CC-1: Monitor and adapt the training environment to ensure inclusive, enjoyable, challenging, and safe activity for athletes who have established the fundamental skills in running, jumping, and throwing.
2-CC-2: Evaluate and identify appropriate activities in accordance with the physical, emotional, and social maturation of the athletes in their program.
2-CC-3: Vary training activities to maintain a stimulating and engaging training environment.
2-CC-4: Provide suitable feedback on performance to groups and individuals during a training session.
2-CC-5: Communicate effectively in group and individual situations.
2-CC-6: Use appropriate methods, drills and activities to instruct appropriate technical models to athletes in all of the following event groups: Sprints, Block Starts, Relays, Sprint Hurdles, Middle Distance, Long Distance, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin, and Race Walking.
2-CC-7: Plan and evaluate a training session and make appropriate adjustments for subsequent sessions.
2-CC-8: Plan and implement a variety of activities that will develop the components of fitness into training sessions.
