Brianna made her international debut at the 2015 world championships where she won bronze in the 100m and was fourth in the 200m. Her ultimate goal had been selection for the Rio Paralympics which she achieved. She placed fourth in the 100m and fifth in the 200m.

Selected for the London 2017 World Para Athletics Championships, Brianna ran a great series of sprints. In the 100m she was just off the podium in fourth in a personal best mark of 15.30. She repeated that performance in the 200m, with another PB in filling fourth place.

Brianna’s 100m PB of 15.30 in London and another eight qualifying marks secured her selection in the Australian team in the T35 100m for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

The Townsville local was introduced to her sport by her PE teacher, Marcia Langrin, in Year 7. The following year she was classified to compete in Para-Athletics at the Challenge Games in Townsville and has been coached by Dayne O’Hara since relocating to Townsville in 2013.

Ahead of big competitions, Brianna likes to eat breakfast alone to spend time focusing on her events.

With the hope of encouraging kids with disabilities, especially those with cerebral palsy, to get involved in sport, Brianna studied a Certificate III in Disability Services through Endeavour College.

When she isn’t training or competing, Brianna enjoys watching YouTube videos and comedies like The Big Bang Theory.
