BiographyRobert Crowther (born 2 August 1987 in Cloncurry). His personal best is 8.12 metres, achieved at the IAAF Diamond League in 2011 in Stockholm Sweden. Robert first came on the international scene in 2004, where he became the Oceania Youth Champion in High Jump, Triple Jump and his preferred event, the Long Jump. From there his Long Jump career exploded, winning both the World Junior Championships in 2006 and University World Championships (Universiade) in 2007. Both times clearing 8 metres. Robert has served as an ambassador for the Raise the Bar Academy, a joint initiative between Athletics Australia and the University of Melbourne that provides summer camps for indigenous high school students. The programme aims to encourage students to attend post-secondary education and pursue a career in the sports industry. |
