Returns and graduates to highlight 20km Race Walking Championships of Australia

The 2019 Australian 20km Walk Championships in Adelaide this Sunday will feature the return to competition for Olympic medallists Jared Tallent and Dane Bird-Smith and the graduation to senior competition for two of the finest teenage walkers Australia have produced. The Australian’s will battle a quality line-up of internationals, providing excellent competition for the Aussies.

Denmark awaits after the World Cross-Country Trial in Canberra

Green and gold singlets were on the line as over 100 athletes arrived at Stromlo Forrest Park to compete at the host venue for the 2019 World Cross Country trials. They were aiming to win a spot on the Australian team at the IAAF World Cross Country races in Denmark in March 2019. The recent heat wave in Canberra eased as upon arrival there was strong cloud cover keeping the temperatures down.

Strong fields for World Cross Country Trial

This Sunday Stromlo Forest in Canberra will host the 2019 World Cross Country trial. The event is key in the selection of the Australian team which will compete in Aarhus, Denmark in late March.

For the fifth consecutive year, Athletics Australia and the University of Melbourne have partnered to host the Raise the Bar Academy (RTBA). Raise the Bar Academy is an exciting residential camp program specifically for Australian Indigenous secondary school students in years 10, 11 and 12, who aspire to participate in athletics and study at university.
