Scandic Tampere Hämeenpuisto

This hotel will strictly be for accredited athletes and team staff. Family and friends are welcome to come and see the athletes, however this is restricted to the hotel lobby. 


The IAAF World U20 Championships  will take place at Tampere Stadium (also known as Ratina Stadium). Tampere Stadium is a Mondo surface. 


Spectator tickets will be available for purchase at the gate. Alternatively, you may pre-purchase your tickets via the link below.

pajulahti - general information
The Team will be based at Pajulahti Olympic Training Center. Accommodation, meals and training facilities will all be onsite. 

All athletes will have the option to compete in the Finnish Event Carnivals (28 June-2 July).

SIdeline champions
The Sideline Champions program focuses on the family and significant others of Australian Athletes. It is an AIS initiative that recognises and supports the athletes’ significant others as key contributors along the high performance athletic journey towards peak performance. It aims to provide information and to raise awareness of the role of a Sideline Champion during different phases of the athletic journey.

In preparation for the IAAF World U20 Championships in Finland, Athletics Australia in collaboration with the AIS will provide information to assist Sideline Champions prepare for their role in the preparation, competition and post-competition phases to ensure Australian athletes thrive in a supportive and caring environment on and off the track and field.

Travel Insurance 
All WU20 Team Members will be covered by the AA travel insurance policy whilst they are with the Team. Any athletes who plan to go on holidays after the tour will need to take out travel insurance for their holiday. 

AA Travel Insurance 

All WU20 Team Members are strongly advised to register with Smartraveller prior to their departure from Australia.
