Tom Gamble was a leading Australian junior sprinter, competing in the 4x100m relay at the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships. He had been selected after a silver in the 200m at the national junior championships.
After a low-key couple of years, he re-emerged impressively in 2013, clocking a 100m best of 10.51, making the 100m quarter-final at the World University Games and running in the 4x400m relay that placed sixth.
In 2014 he ran quicker, 10.42, but missed Commonwealth Games selection. In 2015, he again made the World University Games, making the 100m semi and helping the 4x100m relay to fourth, lowering his PB to 10.28.
In 2016, he chased Olympic qualifiers in the 200m in addition to the 100m. In the 100m he equalled his best 10.28, but made a breakthrough in the 200m with 20.69 (20.60w). He will compete in the relay at the IAAF World Championships.
