Athletics Australia proudly began the custom of allocating and presenting International Representation Bibs in 2013.
It is the same principle under which Australia’s cricketers receive a number cap acknowledging their first game for Australia. In athletics however men and women are included on the same list.
Every athletes who has competed at an Olympic or Paralympic Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships, World Indoors or World Cross Country Championships are eligible for inclusion on the lists - with their first appearance in the green and gold determining their bib position on the respective rolls of honour.
The Lists recognise the first Australian representatives in athletics as Edwin Flack at the 1896 Olympic Games and Daphne Ceeney at the 1960 Paralympics and they have the honour of being allocated as number 1 accordingly.
One of a great long jumpers of Australian Athletics – others include Gary Honey, Jai Taurima, Fabrice Lapierre, Mitch Watt, David Culbert and currently Henry Frayne, along with the women Bronwyn Thompson, Nicole Boegman and currently Brooke Stratton.
