On Friday 27 February the Board of Athletics Australia was handed the report produced following the Independent Review of Athletics in Australia.
The Board of Athletics Australia welcomes and broadly supports the general direction of the recommendations. However, there are a number of serious concerns over the accuracy of some of the information in the report, the style and tone, and the details of some of the recommendations.

Athletics Australia acknowledges the enormous scope for improvement in the way the whole sport of athletics in Australia is led and administered. Some of the recommendations of the Buchanan Review will be of assistance and Athletics Australia look forward to engaging with our athletics community over the coming months to develop a shared vision and plan for the future of the sport in Australia.
