IAAF Melbourne World Challenge

Event date: 21/03/2015 Export event

The 2015 IAAF Melbourne World Challenge is the culmination of the national Australian Athletics Tour, which sees our country’s best track and field athletes compete around the country. The event is the second of two Finals for the Tour and also the only Australian track and field event to be a part of the IAAF’s global World Challenge series of meets. The superstars of Australian athletics and around the world will come to Melbourne’s Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park to compete. All events will be straight finals, with only the best Australian runners, throwers and jumpers having qualified during the preliminary rounds to take part. Whilst invitation lists are yet to be confirmed, 2014 meet highlights included Sally Pearson and Melissa Breen going head-to-head in the women’s 100m sprint, Henry Frayne leaping to a Commonwealth Games A Standard in the men’s long jump and Kim Mickle throwing her own A Qualifier in the women’s javelin.

The IAAF Melbourne World Challenge will include  the Australian 5000m Track Championships (Men)
